Film director Mahesh Bhatt had been in the movies for quite some time
Film director Mahesh Bhatt had been in the movies for quite some time when he made the 1990 film Aashiqui. Before this, he had made some acclaimed films like Saraansh, Naam and Arth but Bhatt was yet to get fame as a mainstream commercial director in the movies. For Bhatt, Aashiqui was a semi-autobiographical film as it was based on his love story with his first wife, Kiran Bhatt, and he chanced upon the opportunity to make this film after listening to its music album. Lyric writer Sameer, in a chat on The Kapil Sharma Show, shared that he and music composers Nadeem Shravan were initially making some songs just for the music bank of T-Series’ head Gulshan Kumar, who was thinking of shopping them around for film producers.
My first film received immense love. I am starting my second innings as an actor with a film titled Ittar. I am hoping people will give me as much love as they did for Aashiqui,” opened up Deepak Tijori, who made a quick dash to Chandigarh on Wednesday.
Tijori was in city for the inauguration of Mandeep Hot Yoga Studio in Sector 17. A prominent actor in the 90s with hit films like Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin, Sadak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa and Baadshah, he turned to directing in 2003 with film Oops! Fareb, Tom, Dick and Harry, Rock’In Love, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani. The 2024 film Tipppsy was his last directorial venture. Most of the films that he directed are also written and produced by him. “Mahesh Bhatt saheb (director of his first film Aashiqui) told us that there would be a time in your life when there would be no time. You would be busy writing, directing and telling inspiring stories to the world,” shared Tijori, who has written three of the seven films that he has directed.
Speaking about Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela headlining ‘Aashiqui 3,’ she expressed that the duo should feel grateful for being chosen to carry forward such an iconic legacy. When asked what advice she would give to actors joining a project like Aashiqui, Anu Aggarwal told IANS, “I’d say this, not out of arrogance, whether it’s about me, Mahesh Bhatt’s films, or even T-Series-anyone who joins Aashiqui is becoming part of a legacy. And when you step into a legacy, half your battle is already won. A huge audience will come to watch you purely because it carries the Aashiqui name. That’s why newcomers should feel grateful and respectful toward the opportunity they’ve been given.”
