The most coveted ticket in Indian cinemas this year? It wasn’t for a star-studded Bollywood debut or the latest superhero spectacle – it was for Interstellar, a film that originally hit theatres more than a decade ago. While Christopher Nolan’s 2014 epic had also been just a few clicks away on every major streaming platform, fans craved the true Nolan experience – the way he meant it to be seen – on towering IMAX screens.
Directed by Academy Award winner Christopher Nolan, Interstellar is a science fiction film that was released back in 2014. In honour of the film’s 10-year anniversary, the makers decided to re-release it worldwide. This just perfectly fits the current wave of re-releases that’s going on in India. So it goes without saying that avid movie watchers and fans showed up in huge numbers to watch the iconic story unfold once again. And then there were people like me who were given another chance to redeem themselves and watch this movie the way it was actually meant to be on the big screen! The film revolves around Cooper, who meets a group of astronauts, and together, they travel through a wormhole near Saturn in search of a new home for mankind. It stars Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway in the leads. A film so beautifully layered and a background score that elevates the entire film, of course had to ignite thoughts in me and make me realise why the film is considered to be so legendary!
As I stepped into Wonderla Bengaluru on a sun-drenched afternoon, I could feel the buzz in the air. The amusement park, a beloved staple for thrill-seekers across India, had just unveiled its latest marvel — Mission Interstellar, a next-generation space voyage ride that promised to catapult visitors beyond the stars.
