While the world of cinema has often witnessed romantic relationships that withered faster than they blossomed, the industry has also stood as a mute spectator to bonds that existed solely behind closed curtains, away from the public eye. Among the latter category are also relationships that existed as open secrets, with neither of the two involved openly admitting to the rumours, yet the truth being apparent to everyone else. Bollywood icons Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborty belong there. Although they never spoke about their rumoured romance, speculations about the same were rife in the 1980s, with some even claiming they had secretly tied the knot — despite Mithun already being married to actor Yogeeta Bali. The latter part of the gossip suggests that they eventually parted ways because Mithun was not ready to end his marriage with Yogeeta.

Actor-director Karan Razdan recently opened up about the equation between Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborty and revealed that they used to fight a lot. Razdan was recently speaking to Siddharth Kannan when he took a trip down memory lane and shared how Mithun and Sridevi used to fight all night. However, he refused to share any other details about the two.

“They used to fight all night. She is no more in this world; so, I cannot speak about her much,” Razdan said, as quoted by the Indian Express.

Bollywood has seen its fair share of love stories; some that stood the test of time, some that felt like fairytales, and others that eventually faded away. One such romance that continues to intrigue fans is the alleged love story between veteran actors, Mithun Chakraborty and Sridevi, leaving many wondering what could have been if they had ended up together. While both actors remained tight-lipped about their relationship rumours, their chemistry was undeniable, both on and off the screen.
